WHY
TGC Collective envisions a world of engaged global citizens who take active roles in supporting causes they believe in and work with others to make a positive impact on the world. With this vision in mind we organize annual trips with a commitment to positive social change. We believe travel can make the world a better place when it’s done in a sustainable and responsible way. Our aim is to maximize the positive impact of our trips through creating opportunities and stimulating cultural interaction.
SEE
Sint Maarten is a constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the Caribbean. It encompasses the southern 40% of the divided island of Saint Martin, while the northern 60% of the island constitutes the French overseas collectivity of Saint Martin. Its natural features span lagoons, beaches and salt pans. The warm hospitality of its people, its diversity and its varied cultural activities all allow it to be nicknamed the "Friendly Island".
SERVE
Integrating sustainability into our travel plans and other actions in life is key to the global and local welfare of ecosystems, cultures, and communities. Sint Maarten continues to embrace the SDG 2030 Development Agenda and remains committed to achieving the goals during the Decade of Action. PRESENT SINT MAARTEN
Present Sint Maarten is a non-profit organization that connects those who want to help with those who need help. Grounded in the belief that life becomes more beautiful when we look out for each other, Present makes a difference in society by building a bridge between people who have something to offer and people who can be helped with this.
TGC Collective partnered with Present Sint Maarten for See the World, Serve the World 2022. Our team managed a home restoration project as part of hurricane Irma recovery. We are proud to serve in their efforts to Rebuild. Recover. Reinvent.
SXM Cap PROJECT
SXM Cap Project is a project driven by the desire to combine entrepreneurship and social initiative.
After hurricane Irma, SXM wanted to bring a project that is a sense with a direct and visible impact for the island of Sint Maarten. The cap was the ideal product, it is the perfect souvenir of holidays in Sint Maarten or a fashion accessory.
For each cap sold a part of the profits are donated to plant trees on Sint Maarten island. TGC Collective made a contribution by purchasing caps for our team. Help support sustainable development in Sint Maarten by purchasing a cap at the link below.
Sint Maarten Nature Reserve
The Sint Maarten Nature Reserve was created in 1998 and covers 3,060 hectares and 11 km of coastline, in the north-east of the island, on the French side. The terrestrial section of the Nature Reserve is made up of rocky coastline, cliffs, beaches and mangroves. The wetlands around the fishpond and the salt flats of Orient Bay are also a part of this protected zone.
TGC Collective participated in an Eco Island Tour during See the World, Serve the World 2022. Eagle Tours NV guided our sails to the most beautiful beaches and reefs for exploration and snorkeling. We received an educational tour of Tinatamarre and Creole Rock islands, learning more about the Sint Maarten Nature Reserve's goal to protect the island’s five main ecosystems: the coral reef, the mangroves, the phanerogam seagrass bed, ponds and the coastal forest.
